Photo Account of Danny’s Episode with Abnormal Movements

On June the 5th 1999 after we went for a take out of Chinese food to celebrate his Birthday, Danny went into a strange dance that we couldn’t get him to stop. He was running around the house looking at us with terror and pain in his eyes.

Movements that have to be done very fast several times over and over overtook him.

I took pictures when the hours passed and he was not able to stop. All together were 18 pictures and they are in sequential order:

First and second photo

Danny is shown “stuck” to the lights in the washroom.
Grimacing in pain.

Third and fourth

Grunting in pain Danny has to lift his arms high up backwards.

Fifth

Fear showing in his eyes Danny is shown with wet pants and his hands at the zipper and scratching his abdomen/chest. He said “itchy” several times during the ordeal.

Sixth

Danny tries to calm himself by rubbing his hands (stimming).

Seventh, Eighth and Ninth

Danny runs/gallops around the house ending in the same spot where he has to bend and touch with his open hands pressing the floor in a pulsating fashion.

Tenth and Eleventh

Danny twirls non-stop on the couch grunting in pain.

Twelfth

Looks like is over. Danny pinches his face.
He has a thoughtful look in his eyes.

Thirteenth photo

Relaxing we are glad is over.

Fourteenth photo

Suddenly Danny lets out a grunt and he is in the “pretzel” position.

Fifteenth photo

After running around jumps in the couch and holding that “C” posture press in a pulsating motion his head against the back of the couch, eyes closed, screaming in pain.

Sixteenth and seventeenth photo

Danny tries to calm himself by stimming, rubbing his hands. You can see how tense are the muscles in his neck. We could see his heart beating fast in his neck, still is back to press his head against the back of the couch.

Eighteenth and last photo

Goes to the steps and positions his toes right by the edge of the step lifting up one his legs as high back as possible (like a dancer) causing him to grunt in pain.

Finally we were able to get Danny to bed and he fell asleep around 1:00a. We thought it was all over for good. However, next morning the moment he opened his eyes gets his arms from under the cover, they started moving in a wiggle fashion and from then on everything came back, by 5 pm all those movements faded away. Why were these episode so severe?
