My True Love

00000How can you tell whether you are in love or not? During the last seventeen years, there were many times when I thought I was in love; yet, I realized later that those were just moments of roaming emotions. Then, what is a true love? As love is a subject that has been discussed for so long a time, everyone may have his/her own opinion about it. At least for now, I, too, have my own meaning of true love, thanks to a girl, who imprisons me with a smile so pure and undeniable.
00000It was about a year ago when I first knew of her existence. The first thing she did, when my eyes met hers, was smile. Ever since that moment, I have been helplessly enslaved to her smile, her voice, and her soul. When I first heard her speak, I was little surprised at how her voice mismatched her features. While she looked rather mild and tender, her voice was quite sharp and confident. From some of my friends, I learned that she was a devout Christian and a dog-lover. This news made me like her even more because I also was a Christian and a dog-fancier. As days passed by, I got to know more about her, as we were in the same class. Although I have never spoken to her, I grew to make a habit of admiring her unconditionally.
00000For a long time, I have been ignorant of the whole world around me; I have been too busy trying to prevent her image from popping up in my head. Hence, I was astonished to find that there were may other boys that had special feelings toward her. 'No wonder,' I thought. Anyways, she was very attractive and, for me, even perfect. I later heard that one of my friend had even confessed to her. Before then, I couldn't even imagine myself telling her how I loved her smile, her eyes, her hands, and practically just everything about her; experience had already taught me enough what to expect. In my whole lifetime, I have made three confessions in total. The first time: I called after school, but got no certain answer. The next time: I wrote a letter, but got rejected. The last time: I told, but it was too late; I was already at KMLA. Not until the last try had I feared failure; however, ever since then, I was afraid to be the first one to reveal my emotions. Now, I'm different, however, and I'm no more a coward. The day I realized I was in love with her was the day I gained my courage back. Now, I am ready to show her every inch of my love that inflames my heart as if to explode.
00000With my heart burning with desperation, I craved for this new semester to begin. During the last semester, I didn't have much opportunity to see her, as we were in different classes. That is why I prayed and prayed on the day when our class numbers were announced; being classmates meant more chance to get to know each other better and, possible, talk to each other. However, I was very disappointed to find that we were mainly in different classes. I had to encourage myself with the few classes I took with her. Then, I came with the idea to change classes with a friend in her class. That friend and I went to the teacher in charge, and I almost begged him to accept my request; yet, he couldn't because the classes were carefully assigned to have proportionate number of students in all optional courses. I perfectly understood that he was in a difficult position; nevertheless, I was mad at him - after all, all I wanted was to study with someone I liked. Honestly, I would have been satisfied just to have a chance to look at her and see her smile as if no one has ever been happier. I did not need her recognition, nor did I need her affection. That's what I was, a fool in love, and I will always be one that needs nothing but the ability to give love forever.
00000Just about an hour ago, she sent me a message. Actually, it was a reply for a message I had sent her. After receiving that message, my definition of true love has been modified. This is my conclusion: true love is unconditional admiration, limitless courage, and the ability to give every bit of your heart; however, communication is the one percent that finally perfects love, the most complicated puzzle in the world. I will always keep this in mind, and never give up on her, my smiling angel, my shy love, my everything.
