The glass is broken
The silver backed glass
Lies shattered on the ground
It catches the light, and shadows
Stepping out of the shattered glass
Looking down and all the shreds
Pieces of who we multiplied by thousands
A different view, a new perspective
The self image before we found wanting
We can live with the pieces of who we are
Now that we see them in context
Now that we see them as a whole
Why when we look at ourselves
We are never happy, always wanting more?
But when the reflection falls to pieces
We find who we really are
Were we lost in the whole
Or did the whole just blind us
To the parts of the person
That made us whole?
The strength we have, the passion
Courage, love, caring, compassion
All hidden behind a faade of
A stranger, someone we didn't know
Step away from the mirror
Look at one part at a time
See the mystery and the wonder
Of who we really are.
