Shishmaref Tae Kwon Do Students
In the Village of Shishmaref 75 students have shown an interest in participating in the Traditional Native Art, Tae Kwon Do. Over 50 students practice three times per week at any one time.
Pictured here and below Wavemaster Kicking Bags. These allow students to increase thier strength and coordination performing traditional kicks. The Wavemaster is vital to helping students increase thier concentration by focusing on one spot to hit consistantly. We would like to thank Northern Air Cargo and ATS for donating the freight to Shishmaref. With out this we would not have been able to afford this equipment.
SWATT TEAM members upper left. SWATT stands for Special Winning Attitude Team. These studetnts train up to five days per week to assist with other students and serve as Pier Group Role Models. They must be at least 14 years old.
