By the way, she's doing GREAT!!!
Here's the scoop: Last weekend (October 20) Emma came off of the ventilator! YIPEE! As the week progressed, she did EXCELLENT on CPAP (a contraption that forces air up your nose and into your lungs. Sounds sadistic, but it is better than the garden hose down your throat.)
She did so good on CPAP that when we had her out on Saturday the 26th on the next step down from CPAP, they kept her there! You can see the nasal tube on the right here. Much more comfortable than CPAP, less to fuss with (there was a hat to hold the CPAP thing in place, straps to pull, etc...) So, again, Emma is flying along, making god progress!
Special thanks this week to Rhonda, who helped with Emma and got her onto the nasal tube thingy, Kim, Tammy, Kim (there are two Kim's), Pam, Pam (again, two Pam's...), the mystery nirse: Julie, etc... As usual, we love all of you for taking such good care of our little angel. We are happy to see Denise return from her vacation, look forward to Michelle's return, and are pleased that Jen's wedding went well!
