| Ok, this needs to be fast. I'm late for work, the camera batteries died last night. Stupid NiCd's... Anyway, my life has been threatened by the staff. I fear if I don't complete an update, they will tie me up in diapers... So, here's the scoop: 1. Emma over 4 pounds!! 2. Emma now in a CRIB, not an incubator. 3. Jeannine much happier 4. Staff much happier 5. Emma coming home in mid. December 6. No one pooped on lately (by Emma) 7. She had her first immunization shots 11-25 |

| Last night (11-25-02) Dad came in to find some of our favorite NICU people huddled in Pod 5. They were all beaming tht Emma had JUST completed her move to the crib. Chris even had the camera ready to snap a quick picture. I was very surprised to see her out of her isollette (I though maybe she was finally getting off the oxygen support since Chris and I joked about it earlier). Everyone was so excited, it was alomst surreal. The second best part of the story is that much of the staff that was present the night Emma crashed (9-12, Jeannine's birthday) was there last night to move her to the crib. It seems only fair that they were there for this big step! We love you guys, in case we have not mentioned it lately. Emma is so loved that people there made calls to those who were off to report the good news... Emma is quite the fighter and such an inspiration to many. Jeannine and I wish to thank all of you for your unwavering support and kindness. We could never have done it without you! PS: If Dad Reilly has seemed a bit testy lately, he is sorry. The trips back and forth were starting to really grate on his last nerves, but this big changed helped reset everything! Thank you all for being there. |

| MORE LATER, I PROMISE! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11-30-02 Emma's laser eye surgery went well according to Dr. Klombers. It will still take another week or two for him to tell if the surgery "took". Other than that, it was pretty slow in the NICU this week. Emma has alos been turned down on her respiratory support. She now receives about 0.5 liters of air/oxygen mixture to help her breath. We are hoping that she does not need to come home on oxygen. So, all your little prayers are appreciated. Felicia, thaks for the many cards! When Emma can make the trip, we will come to see you! |
