Chassis & Body
Here's the frame after we get the axle set and scrounged up some brake assemblies off of a '73 Ventura. The rear axle is out of (from what i was told) a '69 or '70 Impala and is a big bearing 12 bolt. The front suspension, as I understand is a custom? setup modeled over a '73-'74 Nova and has rack and pinion steering. The spindles he had were shortened Impala units but were lost over the years, so I'm left with trying to find suitable subs in order to use this setup. It's kinda a unique IFS, so I'd like to do what I can to save it. As you've noticed, the chassis has alot of reinforcing and in my opinion, makes it look like a Sandrail. Though I don't have any recent pics of the chassis, I have removed all the extra bracing, cleaning it up real nicely. Next on the list is trying to either narrow up that wide-arse rear axle or replace it with something narrower. Also re-mount the brake assembly (moved the body forward 2 inches) and other related components. This frame, though, shows to be pretty much factory spec. other than being Z'ed in the rear and a little longer to accomodate the V8.
Get to the basics

A view of the odd IFS
Will be removing more from the front of the frame aswell to make an original grille shell fit better and get some fenders that fit properly. He had trimmed the front fenders above the upper control arm (for some odd reason) and had them mounted back a little too far. Will also need to fab up some new fender braces in the new locations. As you can tell from the pics, the spindles i have on there now, are dang close, but still don't quite fit the bill. Another obsticle to get around yet.
Here's the 2nd chassis that I got with the car. It's made out of heavier 2x4 box tube and has a Jaguar IRS already mounted in and ready to go. this frame is not reall made to T specs as it's heavier box tube and the rear 1/2 of the frame flares out to better fit the C-Cab body. I'm still deciding on what I want to do with this frame. Not sure if I want to build it up and use it on the C-Cab or get another body for it. The running boards, rear bumper, and gas tank for the C-Cab is what's sitting on the front of the frame. And those are the headers sitting off to the right of the frame.
