Here's my pride and joy. It's not a Cobra but had a rear spoiler put onto it. I bought it from Vernon Pitts, owner of AfFORDable Performance of Vancouver, WA. In the pic above I had already re-assembled it with an engine. It didn't have an engine when I bought it but didn't take long for me to build one!
The interior is pretty much as it was. I just cleaned it up alot. I added a Autogauge shiftlite tach, stereo (street crusin'tunes) new auto gauge gauges, racing buckets, and Grant steering wheel and did a ton of patching/re-wiring.
Currently it has a '74 302 shortblock .040 with TRW hypereutectic flattop pistons and moly rings. The crank and rods are stock with .010/.010 on the crank along with a balance job. The heads are '65 289 heads (54cc chambers) fully ported and have 1.94/1.60 stainless Manly valves. I used Edelbrock Torker springs & retainers with Isky locks. It has an Edelbrock RPM cam and lifters pushing on Competition Cams hardened pushrods. The rockers are Crane Energizer aluminium full roller 1.6 ratio rockers. Under the Motorsports aircleaner is a 780 cfm Holley dual feed atop a Weiad Stealth intake manifold. The exhaust system is fairly straight forward- Dynomax headers into 2 1/2 mandrel bent duals out the back with Dynomax Super Turbos. The no frills Ign. system consists of a stock re-curved distrbutor with a Pertronix unit inside and now a Mallory Promaster coil (still using stock coil in pics). The wires are 8mm Autolites to Autolire plugs.
A rear view of the car. That silver thing by the pipes is the Holley "Red" fuel pump. Not alot of choices for a place to put the pump on this car. There will be when I add the fuel cell I've been wanting!
Another shot up under the rear of the car. On the bumper you see the cut-off switch, I used #0 gauge wire fot the battery. The battery is housed in a Moroso sealed box in the trunk area above.
