My Cannon:
I have a pneumatic cannon which is pressurized through an innertube valve on one of the end caps. I wish I had an air compressor though, so I didn't have to pump it up with a bike pump! To fire you quickly move the ball valve to the open position and the air is released. The chamber is made from 3" PVC with end caps, which attatch to a tee which is hooked up to the ball valve. I got the directions for it in Backyard Ballistics by William Gurstelle. In the directions it had a 1.5" barrel, which I made, but since it uses a 1.5" male threaded adapter to connect the barrel to the whole chamber and valve assembly, it is removeable, thus letting me use different barrels, so I made a 1" barrel that is 5' to send things even further. Even though the 1" barrel shoots small pieces of spud, it sends it far. Haven't tried it yet, but on
July 4th, I can send some smoke bombs or crackle balls way up in the sky for an awesome display. They would fit perfectly in the 1" barrel.
