Huck I think should be a color blue, because the color blue to me means that all that that person wants is peace and nothing else. He doesn�t want to cause harm to anyone else or doesn�t want to be the same as everyone else. The reason that I think Huck would be the color blue is because when he saw Jim at the island he didn�t turn him in to the authorities, not only did he do it for Jim but also for himself because if he took him back everyone would have known that Huck wasn�t dead that he only faked his death. Quote from Huck, �Hello, Jim. It�s good daylight. Le�s get breakfast. Make up your camp-fire good.� That thing he said to Jim he said that to him because he didn�t want to turn him in because Jim is Huck�s friend. The color that I would give Jim is the color green, because the color green to me means full of life. A plant is green and all that the plant was to do is grow into a strong plant. That relates to Jim because all Jim wants to do is not be a slave anymore. He wants his family back and he wants to live peacefully without him being bossed around and other people telling him what to do just because he is black. Jim wants to run off the part of the U.S. where slaves are free, he wants to save money up so that he can buy his family from the people that �own� them and he says if they do not cooperate he will hire someone to kidnap his family so that they will be together again. Quote from Jim, �Well, you see, it �uz diz way. Ole missus-dat�s Miss Watson-she pecks on me all de time, en treats me pooty rough, but she awluz saud she wouldn; sell me down to Orleans.� That�s when Jim was telling Huck why he left Miss Watson. The color that I would give Tom Sawyer is the color yellow, because just like the color yellow, Tom is imaginative; he has all these weird imagination and has weird plans and things to do with his friends. Tom is the complete opposite of Huck. Tom�s romance leads him to doing stupid things and ending in bad in all places. The color that I would give Pap is the color red. The color red, to me, means blood, anger, and all of those other bad things. It may also mean romance but I decided to say it meant anger. I picked the color red because pap is always drinking and once he has finished drinking he starts to be all mean and stuff to Huck. Once he even started to chase Huck saying that he would kill him, Huck was too fast for him and ran to the forest where he lost Pap. The color red may also mean greedy, and Pap relates to this because he found out about Huck�s money and goes off to Judge Tatcher and demands that he gives all the money that Huck has to him just because he is his father. �He abused me a little for being so slow, but I told him I fell in the river, and that was what made me so long. I knowed he would see I was wet, and then he would be asking questions. We got five catfish off the lines and went home.� That�s what Huck said, Pap yelled at him just being slow. Later on Pap took all the fish and went off to the town and sold the fish and with the money he got he got beer and drank it. The color that I would give the Duke also known as the �King� is the color, purple. To me the color purple represents foolishness and when someone is characterized with the color purple it makes me think of them being funny, it may also, sometimes, mean funny. Like in the book the duke pretends to be a real king. The duke is really funny, he once dresses Jim up as an Arab so that he wouldn�t be tied up and would be left there all by himself while they went off. �No, my name�s Blodgett-Elexander Blodgett-Revered Elexander Blodgett, I s�opse I must say, as I�m jist as able to be sorry for Mr. Wilks.� He was smart in making up a fake name real fast. The color I would say Miss Watson and the widow would be is the color grey. I gave them that color because it�s like a dull color. And I�m not saying that they are dulled but they look like civilized people. Miss Watson tries to civilize Huck so that he would be a better kid and have better opportunities when he grows up. She tells Huck that he should pray every night. Huck does so and seeing how he never got any results, he gave up. |
