11/05/04 The Old Playground
These lyrics made me think and feel about what like the gangs do, because it says Walking on the sidewalk, round ball under my arm Everybody knows how you play is who you are Walking down the road, looking for a game or two The real moves come through, no  matter what theyre gonna do Its down to you  To me this makes me think like who ever the person is he probably was like in a gang, and they owned part of the city or something like that.  He was probably away for some time and now that he returned, everything has changed.  He says looking for a game or two which probably means a fight or two in order to get their area back or something.  Uhh this really didnt affect me in any way or will ever.  I didnt really understand the lyrics that good, because I dont like this kind of music what ever it is rock, country or what ever, so I really didnt get to write out that much about these lyrics.  This might relate to some one else because they might have been in jail for some time, and taught that once he or she got out of jail that everything would be the same when he went back to his family, but once he or she got out of jail and went back to his family, everything has changed there are new people around the neighborhood and other stuff like that.  Also in the lyrics when it says "Take me to the old playground Where the old ones rule, and the young ones do their time Take me to the old playground Where the talk is cheap And the restless stalk the baseline"  It seems to me that they he or she wants everything to go back to normal like it used to be before anything changed.  They liked it the old way better they way the old ones ruuled, and the young ones do their time.
