Today, all that`s left of the Firestone building is the fence that goes all the way around the old perimeter, and these gates.

This is one of the numerous concrete blocks, still standing, which are interspersed along the fencing around what was the old Firestone building. There is one of these blocks roughly every 2 Metres along the fence, and they`re about four and a half foot tall. Now, if you think that all their purpose is, is to provide a break support for a metal fence. Now look at how elaborate the design is, the care and thought that has gone into the making of a simple concrete pillar, and it should give you SOME idea of what a magnificent building the Firestone building was.

The start of the Golden Mile, Great West Road, Brentford, West London, taken from Gillette corner, and my camera is NO good at taking night time photos, and I REALLY should give up trying!! But I LOVE taking the photos, and I never know when I`m going to get a good one that really says what I`m trying to express.

I always knew I had a Gaurdian angel. Me, out and about at 2 A.M.
