Lucerne - Switzerland

Rheinfall locates in Lucerne. The river cuts across Austria, Liechtenstein, France, Germany, and Holland (Netherlands), to its mouth on the North Sea.
Lion of Lucerne is the landmark of the city. Hewn in 1821 out of solid rock after a model by the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. The sculpture is a monument dedicated to the 7000 Swiss Guards received by Louis XVI, the France King. Those guards perished defending the Tuileries during the French Revolution.
Lucerne is the Capital of Switzerland. Bicycle is a common transportation tool. An original city gate, wall, and watchtowers enclose the narrow, cobbled streets of the old town. Famous Swiss watches like Rolex and Omega are made here. Hotel management is popular in the world with a few hundred years of history. Chocolate has its generation of secret receipts. Few members join the political union and each becomes presidency once a year.

This is Lucerne Lake where we had an enjoyable boat ride. All the river streams are headed toward Rhine River. This was a fishing village.

Small islands on Lucerne Lake
Landscape on the shore with stylish Swiss houses.
We rode 3 cable cars to get to the top of Titlis Mountain (10,000 feet).
Six of us, in the first cable car, have just experienced a sky ride! The second cable car can carry 50. The third one has 360 degree floor rotation and carry 100. Everything: grass, huge trees and animals were just below us. We were all at the loss of words to describe this picturesque nature.

What a feeling to be on the snow covered peak in the hot summer!

Standing on the edge of the snow mountain, the temperature was not as cold as it seems to be.

At the foot of the mountain, pigs, cows and sheep are so free. All the cows wear bells which are used to disturb their rest; so they can stay awake and eat for higher milk production.
