Amsterdam - Holland

We sat on a big popular Holland Shoe which look like a boat.
Do you like Heineken beer? Here is the birthplace of the world's most loved beer. Here is also the starting point of our fun in boating.

The 90 islands that make up the city are divided by canals crossed by hundreds of picturesque bridges. We enjoy Dutch-style sightseeing aboard a glass-roofed launch gliding through the city's maze of canals. Lots of people who live in canal are musicians and artists. In the past, the word Amsterdam was taken from a person called Amster who built the dam. Most residents of Amsterdam travel by bicycle. The city has even traffic lights for the bike. The 400-year diamond cutting and polishing industries are also world famous. Queen is the highest official. On the boat, we saw narrow doors on every single house because higher tax is levied on wider doors. People move big furniture through wider windows. HaHa!

Windmill is used from tradition to the modern day for a few purposes: to grind wheat, to carry water from lower to higher level, to cut woods, and to generate power. This place rains 2/3 of the year; therefore, flowers and plants grow vigorously. Flower festival is held yearly; and many of them are exported all over the world. Milk is one of the most popular production.
