Waiting
Prepubescent dawn awaits
On the verge of breaking skin
Your last tear falls,
And you recall.
Looking back, was this a call?
Memories of a happier time
The broken bells of strife chime
Reunited those joyful times
When life was worth living
Dreams were worth sharing
You confide in the one who strives with you
Never expecting what later follows
Now as you silently think
You wonder where life left you hollow
Desensitized to the sinful words
Where is your place in this awful world?
Now as the knife gets deeper
All your childish hopes diminished by the reaper
You wonder where you'll be when you open your eyes
Many say you will fall to the land despised
How do they know? For only fate knows which way you will flow
Blood wells from deep below
From secret places you'd never know
Your broken heart can soon be calmed
The useless body is not embalmed
Your soal floats far away
Would you even notice if I stay?
I am here, waiting for you
Come save me from this misery
Pick me up and fly me away
Tell me lies of sweeter times
Put a smile on my face of rhymes
Break it off and jab it in
You break through my armor of tin
You cascade through my world of sin
Shine your light, you know I will follow
I will give in to your flight of sorrow
Down I fall and far I go
Bottom hits hard and I am numbed
You brought me to this place again
For here I will stay with you. Amen
