Assigned as Project Manager   responsible to Saudi Aramco for project BI-3015 (Electrical Upgrade, Northern   Area Producing, Phase 1). This project was constructed for the Saudi Arabian   Oil Company (ARAMCO) Northern Area Projects Department and was located in   Tanajib & Safaniyah, in the Kingdom    of Saudi Arabia. The project was   a full EPC lump sum, turnkey project. The scope of work included the detailed   engineering, procurement of all materials, construction, pre commissioning   and commissioning. All works were carried out in accordance with Saudi Aramco   standards and included construction of two new substation buildings,   modifications to eleven existing substations including 69kV circuit switchers,   34.5kV (12/16 MVA) transformers and NGR?s, 13.8kV/480V (2 MVA and 1 MVA)   transformers, 13.8kV SF6 switchgear, 4.16kV & 480V bus ducts and 4.16kV   double ended metal clad switchgear. The project involved extensive power   cabling and splicing and the cutover of live substations. The new substation   buildings were complete with HVAC, DC   systems, protection, fire detection and protection and small power and   lighting. This project had no NCR?s, no safety incidents and was completed   six months ahead of the Saudi Aramco schedule.

Main responsibilities involved   the planning and project management of the E. P. C. package of a blast   resistant control room by unifying the existing control rooms whilst   replacing the conventional control panel type instrumentation and control   systems for the onshore crude oil production facilities with a sophisticated   distributed process control system (DPCS). The project was located at Al   Khafi, approximately 100km from the Kuwait Border on the East Coast of Saudi   Arabia. The project included the renewal of the existing data transmission   and monitoring system for the onshore fire protection system by introducing   an optical data communication system for the fire monitor stations with   visual display units.
Initially tasked with the   planning of various shutdown projects for ARAMCO in Riyadh refinery and the   establishment of a Project Management structure and culture within a local   company with 35 years process related experience with the major oil companies   in Saudi Arabia.

Continued monitoring of job safety, risk analysis and   quality systems were an important factor in satisfactory completion.

A personal tutorial in Artemis planning was also   undertaken.
