On the road in Burma

In 1984 you could not get a tourist visa to visit Burma so we got a 7-day transit visa.

On arrival in Rangoon (from Dacca on Biman Bangladesh Airways) we hired a Toyota

truck, driver and guide. They bought a drum of gasoline with the $100 we gave them

up front. We spent our 7 days seeing as much of the country as possible. Our mode

of travel was illegal so our guide would bribe the soldiers at the check points.
