I attend Hoke County Holiness Church, in Red Springs, NC. My father, Gene T. Chavis, has been the pastor there for almost 25 years. You could say that this is where I grew up because my parents have attended this church my entire life. As a child, and now as an adult, I have seen the church change. This is where my formative years were spent, and now I can look back and see how much I have also changed.
I learned to play the piano at this church and never dreamt that one day it would fall upon me to play on Sunday services, as well as the other services that are held at the church. It has been a process of maturation for me, a growing experience, if you will. In the past, I would get so nervous when I would play during services, but I have found that gradually the nervousness has turned into a peace that "passes all understanding", as I truly do enjoy making music that blesses God in every way. My playing has improved over the past year, and I can only give God the praise for that, and not anything that I have done in myself.
Here are some pictures I have taken over the past few months of both the church services as well as church activities with the youth. Thanks for visiting my page, and visit again soon, as I plan to keep this updated on a monthly basis.
In God's service,
Dana
