The Great Niagara Whirlpool

Why has this natural wonder been so overshadowed by the falls?

This little known marvel of nature would surely make the charts of world-class natural
attractions if not for the ageless fame and possibly "over-rated" splender of it's upstream
neighbor, Niagara Falls.

The Niagara Whirlpool is a stand-alone wonder in it's own right,
every year tourists from all over the globe are drawn to it's powerful downward destiny.
"Where does the water go" is the question of the day, as kids and grown-ups alike enjoy
a lean over the railing to "just to see".   Those words have sent chills down the backs
of the natives for decades.    It is said that even a seasoned "whirpooler" gets a little
weak-kneed recalling some of the horror stories involving boats and "too-curious"
tourists falling into the watery abyss.  Just a couple of miles north of the falls and
you're there, see it this summer. "You'll like it!"
