The boat was filling up with water at an excessive rate.
I knew it was only a matter of time, it would go under and
with him in it. Thinking quickly I pulled him up on me, as far
as he could go, and made my way into the water. Without
looking back, I pressed on, fighting off the waves as I went.
I reached the shallow part of the water, as the sun was setting.
Pulling him to shore, I still had not laid eyes on this
weary traveller. I made my way to the beach and quickly dried
off. Putting on my clothes is quite hard when one is still
a tad wet, but I manage to get the job done. *Laughter*
I look down and my eyes and jaw open wide with shock, he too
is a mermaid. Well, merguy..*blushes*. As I sit there with
my mouth hung open, he awakens and begins to sit up. Just,
as fast as, he sits up, he passes out once more. As he lies
there, I take this moment to run back to the plane and get
him some clothes. Making it to the outskirts of the beach, I
once again hear the birds up in the trees settling in for the
night. Adds a little smile to my face, which is gladly needed.
Peeking thru the trees, I can see him now looking himself
over and wondering how he came to be. I clear my throat and
poke my head out. With a shocked look on his face, he tries
to flee. Luckily for me he cannot tho. I slowly sit beside
him and listen to the ocean, as it crashes up against his
boat. I give him a gentle smile and take his hand in mine.
He looks on me like I am mad. After drying himself off
and putting on the new clothes, he finds that his legs returned.
I offer to lead him back to my camp and he agrees to follow.
We travel most of the night and make it back to the food by
the crack of dawn. There we feast until our bellies are full.
Up in the trees, the birds too make the best of this situation.
