Our first and only priority this night,
is to get to that other bus station. We
drive thru town quite swiftly and make
it safely to the bus station. Again, the
buses are basically all destroyed, but
there is one still in tact. It's amazing
how this fate works. The ones already
in a bus stay there, while the ones in
cars pile into the working bus. It never
even dawns on us to get a driver. We
sure do need one. Arthur takes it upon
himself to hunt somebody down at the bus
station. It doesn't take him long, too.

He returns with a very nice looking
lady. She is crying extensively, but is
starting to stop. He introduces her to
us. Her name is Cyndee. She had gone to
the grocery store, but when she came
home she found her husband and kids
dead by a meteor. She has nothing now.
She begs us to take her with us. Even
shows us her driver license. It says
that she can drive greyhound buses. We
agree that she may come with us.

We have to move fast, before other
people see us and start wondering
what we are doing. Fourty people
go into that second greyhound bus.
There is also: five small dogs and
six large dogs, ten cats, two birds,
one monkey, one male betta fish,
one snail, and two iguanas. It's
one packed bus with the crew.

Just, as soon as, the bus is filled
and ready, we take off for Huntsville.
It's nice being in these plush seats.
It is so nice having the restrooms on
the bus, too. I do not know about the
rest of the crew, but I fell asleep.
When I woke up, we were entering the
city of: Gadsden. It is a small quaint
town, but deserted, too. A sign can be
found at the start of the town. It says:
No one will take us down, but ourselves.
It doesn't take us long to find another
grocery store. We stop off and fill our
buses to the hill. We will probably
need it in Huntsville. Off again.

HWY 431 is a short road on a map,
but when you get driving it - it's very
long. I begin to fall asleep again. It
is so nice not to worry for a change.
I didn't get to sleep long, tho. The
next thing I knew Arthur was waking
me up. He had made it to the outskirts
of Huntsville and wanted to know where
to go next. I instructed him to go to
the nearest hotel/motel he could find.
That way we could take a shower.

Arthur and Cyndee start to pull the
buses around to the back of this one
deserted motel, but a mob of people
start to charge at us. We take off
just, as fast as, we pulled in there.
People are running in the street
burning homes and stealing stuff. It
is totally pathetic. No one is safe
in this city. I manage to call Michael
and boy is he glad to hear from me.
He instructs me to take 431 to 231.
Then I am to go to Martin Rd. This
will take us to the: Marshall Space
Flight Center (NASA), so we proceed
there. Everyone is glad to be there.

The journey to the center is not easy,
but we do manage to arrive at the
back door, as Michael suggested. We
await his signal to move further. It
seems to take forever, but he finally
shows himself. We follow him into
this large garage like. It takes us
down to the lower levels and this is
where we make our camp for the next
day or so. The wait is a long one.

Lower Level of Center at 3am

It is hard for us to fall asleep
down in the lower levels, for the
light are so very bright. We didn't
dare exit the buses, because we had
no clue as to what was down here. We
just sat and waited. About an hour
later, I saw Michael walking towards
the bus. I got out to greet him. I
gave him a BIG hug and a kiss. He
motions to the ones in the bus to
stay where they are. Then he begins
to chat with me.

"I know this is going to be hard to
do, but you all need to stay on the
bus. NASA knows nothing of us getting
you inside here. The lights will stay
on the whole time. Right now there
is so much chaos going on upstairs.
I will come and let you know when
you all can get out and stretch.
Okay?"

"Do they know when this is going to
happen with the larger meteor?"

"They have a pretty good idea, but
they are not totally sure. Right
now NASA is trying to find a way to
destroy the meteor, but the weapons
have been destroyed. My father is
still working on getting us out of
here without them knowing. You sit
tight and I'll let you know when to
move. You don't have to worry about
them coming down here. They are
done with this section. They can't
even hear you, but they do have
motion detectors on and that is why
you have to stay in the bus for now."

"Okay. No Problem. Come back soon."

"I promise you will get to move soon."

With that Michael disappears once
more into a little door. I tell the
crew what he had to say and we just
make up our minds to fall asleep.

Over some type of loud speaker we hear:

"Would Debbie's bus please exit at
this point. Also, take with you all
of your luggage and your pets. Let
your pets and children run free,
while you line your luggage along
the wall closest to the door. This
way the motion detectors will not
sense something new. I will let you
know when to get back in the bus,
until then enjoy your freedom. "

With that we charge out of the bus.
Not only do we line the luggage up
against the wall, but the birds we
have, too. The moving around does
us all a world of good, we even get
to eat out of the bus. Alas, the
fun doesn't last that long. We are
then instructed to enter the bus
once more. At midnite, the 2nd bus
is able to do the same thing. This
goes on for about 5 days. Michael
also manages to transport our stuff
to the spaceship, so it's waiting
for us. He even takes the birds &
the cats. This is such a relief.

Being the only one awake in our bus,
I see Michael walking towards us.
He motions to me to exit the bus,
so that we might talk. We sit down
on some chairs he brought. He tells
me of the chaos going on above our
heads. How once innocent people are
now killing and stealing. Many of
them are trying to bust into the
center, also. I'm very frightened.
He assures me there will be no harm
to us, if we just lay low. To our
sorrow, there is no way to destroy
the meteorite. It will be touching
down in a day or two. He informs
me that it is now time to move.

First, he leads my bus out. He has
us stand against the wall. He then
opens the door and we go through to
the other side. Then he has the 2nd
bus do the same thing. He remotely
turns the detectors back on, before
they notice something is wrong. The
2nd bus has to stay against the wall
until he comes back to get them.
The animals are with us, too.

Unfortunately, only a small amount
of people can go thru the door at
a time. This is why the 2nd bus has
to wait. My group is being lead by
Michael and his trusty flashlight.
He leads us down a very narrow
hallway. It takes us pass storage
cabinets & lockers. After 45 minutes
of walking, we end up at a small
room used for storing extra space
suits. He tells us to stay put,
while he goes and gets the others
moving. We are now in darkness.

We sit in that little room for what
seems like an hour. Actually, it has
only been about 30 minutes. The rest
of the crew is with Michael. Michael
takes his place in the lead again
and we follow behind him with our
pets. Being that there is not much
light, it makes it very difficult to
see. We all have to hold hands, so
that we won't get lost in the dark.

Michael assures us that our cats and
birds have been properly fed. Tho he
had to do it, when no one was around.
The ship is guarded by many men. We
arrive in yet another room and he
motions for us to sit on the floor.
He goes to see that the coast is
clear and safe for us to enter.

He hasn't been gone 30 minutes, when
we start to hear this loud commotion.
It is followed by the slamming of a
very heavy, metal door and a person
running in our direction. Luckily,
it is only Michael and his trusty
flashlight. He collapses to the
ground in a fit of exhaustion. We
decide to give him a chance to catch
his breath, before hounding him with
questions. What could it be?

Michael says to us:
"I'm sure you are wondering what all
that commotion was about. Well, my
father and his co-pilot were down
here and the guards didn't like it
one bit. The three of us ganged up
on the guards and forced them back
to the upper levels. It takes a lot
to get those BIG metal doors shut,
but we managed to do it. Now we
have to hurry, before they find a
another way down here. Come on
let's go, we don't have much time."

We follow him thru a door and down,
yet another corridor. The next room
we encounter is being used as a
pantry room. It is filled to the hill
with all types of dry goods. He asks
us to find a comfortable spot on the
floor and wait for him to return. At
least this room has light in it. =)

Upon his return, he asks that 12 of
us follow him into the next room. We
proceed thru the last door and into
a room with the most beautiful ship
I have ever saw in my life. I have
watched many a sci-fi program, but
never saw anything like this ship.
It stood at least 25 stories into
the air and it was, as wide as, the
superdome. It looked like it was
made from either: mother of pearl
or abalone. Quite exquisite.
