I've just returned from Copenhagen where I saw my last performance of the Danish POTO production for the season. It was great - actally better than ever. The chemistry between the Phantom (Peter Jorde) and Christine (Viktoria Krantz) was so good. They just played towards eachother (does that make sense?) in a way that made my heart shiver. It was a really emotional show. (Duuh... Like that's new...). Almost everything were perfect Sunday 30. of November. The only thing I didn't like about this performance, was that the Madame Giry (Eline Denice Riisager) was boring. Pretty voice, yes, but little authority. It felt like she kept banging her cane randomly. Firmin (Carl Chr. Rasmussen) was hilarious, though. In "Hannibal", he started counting the musicians in the orchestra pit with his cane, and he also "yelled" at one of the real musicians. He was really, really funny that evening!

There were some minor mistakes in the show (which I enjoyed, as it didn't ruin anything). First of all, they had a really hard time getting the elephant off stage. They banged into the sets several times, and it stopped completely. Luckilly, some smart cast members smoothed it, by pretending it was supposed to be like that. And eventually they got it off stage. Second, someone forgot to put out an apple for Christine in PONR. Honestly, I didn't notice it, but Viktoria Krantz told me after the show that it totally confused her, and she almost started giggling because she had to improvise the whole "rubbing the apple" aspect... Especially because the Phantom is supposed to take it from her, and she tried to tell him (with body language) that "Hey, I have no apple! Do something else!". She managed that fine, though, as I didn't notice it at all... I did notice something falling on the floor in Masquerade, when the Phantom is ripping Christine's necklace with the ring off (which actually bruised her neck that evening!). I thought it was the ring, apparently, it was some beads falling off her dress.

Now... the really interesting experience: I got to see Peter Jorde (Phantom) remove the latex deformity and make up! It's quite a job. Poor guy, the stuff is actually glued to his face! It was cool to see. Those guys are sitting there one hour before every performance, just to get it on, and then half an hour to get it off. I am grateful that they even bother...

All in all, a perfect evening. I'm sooo sad it's over!
