This night was the third time I was going to see Phantom in Copenhagen and that night I arrived at the theater sick. I was suffering from quite high fever and a flu, gastric-flu if I remember correctly, but it didn't stop me. After lying in bed almost the entire day, sleeping, with my gran nursing me, she was the one I was going to the theater with, collecting as much energy as possible and throwing up as much as possible I considered myself ready to watch an 2 hour long musical.

Arriving at the theater, feeling somewhat better, I was a bit disappointed when I read checked the cast-list and read that it wasn't Jrn Pedersen who was going to play the phantom that night. I remember this time I was sitting very close to the stage, third or fourth row I think, so close so I could actually see when the sweat started to take form in their faces. Peter Jorde played the phantom that night, I had actually seen him once before playing opposite Hanne Damm but that time, I don't know why, I wasn't paying very much attention to him, I guess it was because he was the one that played the phantom and not Jrn.

However this time I saw something that I hadn't spotted at all, even though I had that horrible fever burning inside my head, his voice penetrated through it. Peter Jorde has this light voice were the high notes goes really brightly and the low notes goes very deep, I wouldn't call him a baritone 'cause he sounds more lighter than a baritone. There's something also very ghostly about his voice, take that laughter he makes when the chandelier falls down, it sounds like a maniac and it sound sooooooooo cool . He's acting was also great, he almost seemed vampiric and with his tall body it made him very intense.

Christine was played by Viktoria Krantz that night which was very exciting because I had never seen her before. She was absolutely wonderful, you could tell that she loves playing that part. She really opens up to the audience with a big smile. The number that she definitely made the best was the "Think of me"-number, her voice rang like a bell and she could hold and pitch in a way I had never heard before. And you could really understand her situations in the many different scenes, which was great, either she was sad or happy.

Tomas Ambt Kofod played Raoul which was also exciting, I had never seen him before either. He somewhat seemed more younger than Bjrn Olsson and he was also a hunk... He was very cute next to Viktoria, the two of them were perfect as Christine and Raoul. Apparantly an accident happened to Tomas that night, in the scene were Raoul and the managers are setting up their plan to kill the phantom before the Don Juan performance. One of the guards accidently shot Tomas in the ear while he was aiming at the phantom who was in box five he hit Tomas who was standing below it, but you never noticed it on stage. Thank God it's only toy-guns they have in the show. I don't know if he actually got the shot in his ear but I found out later, by the other actors, that something had happened with his eardrum.

Jrn Pedersen was actually in the show that night but he played Firmin. It was very hard to imagine that it was him who played that funny, old manager after that fantastic performance as the phantom!

After the show my gran said that she had arranged a meating between us and the actors. Now I was feeling like a shit and thought that she was joking, being that old, crazy but desperate woman that she is. First we got to meet the conductor, Per Engstrm, who was swedish and hey!...he's from Malm!!! Which I also am. He led us to the dressing rooms.

Backstage, we first we met Viktoria Krantz who was extremely, extremely kind, truly a friendly and sweet person. Then I got to meet Peter Jorde who still had some of the make-up on so when I first saw him I kinda squeaked and jumped a little, he really looked nasty and he laughed at me (bas**rd). But he was also very nice, he was smiling the enitre time, which is kinda rear to see a phantom do. He was very tall, apparantly he is entire 1.93 cm tall and I am only 1.63 cm tall, so standing beside him made me feel like a dwarf and although my heels were pretty high I only reached him to his chest or his belly, don't remeber really.

I was going to meet Tomas Kofod but it never happened and I don't blame him, I wouldn't be that hot of meeting a little fan either if I had been shot in the ear. But I got to meet Jrn Pedersen!!!! Yeah!!! And actually got to meet him with his pants down, I really tried not to laugh . Jrn was like a big teddybear, very cute and cozy. When he hugged me I was tiff as a stick. Viktoria showed me and gran the wigs department where I got to see and touch her Christine-wig and many other wigs. And of course my gran insisted to take a picture of me and the actors, which I was really scared about because that would mean that I would have to stand very close to them and with my fever and flu I was afraid that something would pass on to them. Maybe I infected the enitre cast! I mean If you look at the picture of me and Peter you can see that my face is twice as shiny as his, because of the fever. I have more picture's but I'm having problem with scanning them into the computer and with me being so ill that night I look horrible at most of them.

I was very happy after that night, so happy that I thought I was perfectly healthy......until I came home. The second I closed the door behind me I rushed to the bathroom and hung with my head above the toilette in half an hour. Since that night I haven't seen them, but I remember I sended a birthday-card to Viktoria since her birthday is march 17th and mine is march 15th. And, of course, I've seen one of Peter's performances in "Sound of Music" and I have been singing once with Monica Einarson teaching me. And I live in the same building as Karin Fridh so we are neighbours, and of course, I have seen her as Carlotta and she is the best one I have ever seen in that part. Even though it was years ago and now I'm older I look back and wonder why they bothered so? But they were wonderful, all of them, so if any of you guys read this, God bless you!!!!!

Loads of love from Caroline.
