PETER JORDE - stayed the whole run

Peter Jorde in real life. He is a cutie. Peter stayed the whole run from 2000-2003, and he also joined the 2009 production. At that point he had performed the role app. 300 times. I saw him tons of times, and loved him in the part. He was originally trained as an actor, and has done various plays and TV series, but he has a gorgeous singing voice as well. It's difficult to describe his voice. It's very tender and light, but not at all falsetto. He himself calles it a "light baritone", and that is a pretty good expression, because he also had some lovely deep notes.

His voice (and interpretation as a whole) comes off as ageless. He had these very expressive hands some Phantoms are famous for (Brad Little is another who comes to mind). Jorde did such a touching interpretation of a torn soul whih today is only a vague memory in my head, and though I have seen many Phantoms after him, I have yet to see the unique touch Peter Jorde gave the role. He remains my favourite even today.

As far as I can tell, he has played opposite all the Copenhagen Christines, and he is definitely the Danish actor doing the role the most times!

Peter was born July 13th 1964. And although he is one of Denmark's most beloved musical artists, he is actually a psychologist by profession. Whaddayaknow!

You can learn more about Peter in his official home site.

Special Peter Jorde treats:
*There's a reason why I refer to him as Peter "the hands" Jorde...
*An interesting timbre in his voice, a hollow, quality, without sounding whiny or lacking ooomph
*Tall! So tall!
*Almost fearing Christine, seldom caressing her directly (and even less in 2000-2003 than in 2009)
*Whispering "I love you... I love you... I love you" into the veil at the end
