HANNE DAMM - opening cast 2000 + 2001 (+2002?)

Hanne Damm was a lovely Christine. I remember I sat amongst the audience, smiling, because she performed the role so... excellent! She was both vulnerable and gutsy, and she had some lovely upper notes. I've since heard her on CD, and I wasn't as impressed as I was live. Mostly because some of her lower notes are a little flubby, and that is very noticeable on CD. But still, the memory of her live performance shines.

Hanne had her scenic debut in Phantom, and she received in 2001 the Reumert talent award because "... in "Phantom of the Opera", she is blossoming in the lead role as the young and fair Christine. It is a scenic splendid demonstration of a soprano filled with euphony and a sound which is a nightingale worthy."
