 Grandma's passport photo
1926
In May of 1926, at the tender age of 19, Grandma boarded a steamship, and came to America by herself.
She lived in Idaho for a short time, and then moved to Ogden, Utah, where she eventually met my Grandfather, Niels Einar Nielsen. They were married in New York on June 27, 1932.
Grandma and Grandpa had two children. My aunt, Marion, was born in April of 1933. My father, Robert, was born in April of 1937. Marion passed away in June of 1999. Grandma had 7 grandchildren, all of whom adored and cherished her:
Kristine, Richard, Kim, Kay, Lisa, and Robert E.
She was preceded in death by her first grandchild,
Robert M. Kendall, Jr.
At last count she had 6 great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Thomas, Kelli, Corissa, Abigail, and Hailey Rose.
The 5 oldest were lucky enough
to meet their "Besta" before she passed away.

My Grandma died peacefully on March 6, 1995. When she passed out of this world,
she was in her own bed at home, surrounded by her family.
Grandma was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetary
on March 10, 1995.

Denmark's National Anthem
Der er et Yndigt Land
Der er et yndigt land
Det str med brede bge
Nr salten sterstrand
Nr salten sterstrand
Det bugter sig i bakkedal
Det hedder gamle Danmark
Og det er Frejas sal
Og det er Frejas sal
Vort gamle Danmark skal best
S lnge bgen spejler
Sin top i blgen bl
Sin top i blgen bl

There is a Lovely Country
There is a lovely country
It stands with wide beeches
Near a salty, eastern beach
Near a salty, eastern beach
It winds through rolling hills
Its name is old Denmark
And it is Freja's hall
And it is Freja's hall
Our old Denmark must remain
As long as the beech mirrors
It's top in the blue waves
It's top in the blue waves |
