The Caroline Rhea Show

Caroline: Our first guest is the cornerstone of the biggest franchise in movie history and hes not even old enough to get a drivers license. His latest film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is just about the most fun a Muggle can have. Take a look. Please welcome my favorite seeker, Daniel Radcliffe! Theyre very excited, as am I. I feel like Im meeting Harry Potter. I do. Do you feel like youre Harry Potter at this point?
Dan: I think its probably like something that will result in serious therapy in years to come.
Caroline: Youre telling the therapist, But I am Harry Potter! Even if you need glasses, youll probably only get contact lenses, right? And now, Im not a Muggle. Im not one of those ordinary common Muggles. I myself played a witch for several years. I dont know why I brag about that like its a good thing. But since youre a wizard, do you feel like you can do magic now? Do I seem insane for having asked that? A little?
Dan: No, no, Im completely mad but I dont feel I can docan you do magic?
Caroline: Can I do magic?
Dan: Yeah.
Caroline: I made you appear! And Im quite pleased with that!.. How do you feel about flying? If you really had flown, its kind of annoying isnt it?
Dan: Its really just really cool playing Quidditch and everything. Its just amazing. Sorry, Im a bit nervous.
Caroline: Oh please dont be nervous. Im a wreck. Heres the thing, on Sabrina, this is how we flew and it was so embarrassing. Were on vacuum cleaners and they had to weight you up until you could get them to fly and everyone would be soaring and everyoned be like We need another twenty pounds on Carolines vacuum! It didnt even make you want to fly. So youre an excellent Quidditch player!
Dan: Thank you
Caroline: Youre the best!
Dan: I am. Im the best.
Caroline: You are the best. Now for those people who dont understand what Quidditch is, the one person in America who hasnt seen the movie yet, how would you explain it.
Dan: Its basically like, kind of, basketball on brooms.
Caroline: Basketball on brooms?
Dan: Yeah. Theres seven players on each team. Theres four balls in total.
Caroline: And that little tiny little gold one.
Dan: Yeah, when you catch the snitch, which is the gold one with the wings and stuff, thats a hundred and fifty points and you win.
Caroline: I know. You won and its very exciting. Whats it like working with Maggie Smith? I mean, shes such a legend!
Dan: Its amazing, And shes so nice. Shes got such a cool sense of humor. Shes really cool!
Caroline: Shes so funny. I met her when I was eighteen. Which was four years ago, Daniel. It was five, Im lying.. Now when youre in Americado you like visiting here?
Dan: Yes
Caroline: You do?
Dan: Really cool.
Caroline: What do you like about it?
Dan: I just like the energy.
Caroline: Yeah, it does have a lot of energy.
Dan: Has a lot of energy. Its really cool.
Caroline: What are some of your favorite American foods? Cause Ive had British food.
Dan: What do you think?
Caroline: Not a lot of flavor. I gotta be honest.
Dan: No. I like hamburgers and stuff. Like hamburgers here are way better than in England.
Caroline: Yeah, cause we dont have mad cow disease, thats part of it. Youre not like afraid when you eat it. Thats the thing. Now is it just assumed sinceNow whats it like in England? Is it crazy? I mean its crazy here. People know you. But in England is it just, like youre one of the Beatles, basically.
Dan: Well, cool! But I dont, I mean I dont know if Im that wow. I think its kind of crazy but its amazing because when people come up to me on the street theyre always like really enthusiastic about the film so its really fun to hear what they have to say.
Caroline: Its so fun. My trainer, you know like weights and what have you, he was so excited when your movie came out. Hes thirty, okay. I just want to tell you. So, you have fans of all ages. Now if you werent gonna be a professional actor when youre older, cause you already are one now, what do you think you might be?
Dan: Maybe a writer. I like writing.
Caroline: Oh, you do?
Dan: Yeah. And Chris Columbus has really given me a love of film so I like directing as well I might like to direct when Im older. Caroline: You probably will tooWhat day were you born?
Dan: 23rd of July.
Caroline: Oh, so youre a little Leo.
Dan: Im on the cusp of Cancer and Leo so I can be a crab with lions head. Caroline: Im just curious. I have a friend in the audience and shes a big fan of all the books and the movie. So Emmy, come here honey, I want you to meet Daniel. Here you go. Daniel Emmy.
Dan: Hi, nice to meet you.
Caroline: Pleased to meet you. Emmy, how good is that? He said pleased to meet you and stood up! British boy, very good. He could use a green card one day. You just hang in there, okay? You dont know whats gonna happen. Miss Emmy, do you have a question for the lovely Daniel?
Emmy: You know, today, Im skipping school just to see you. So how do you get your school done.
Dan: I have three hours minimum school on set and five hours maximum. But at the moment cause Im having a break between the second and third film, so Im actually at a new school now.
Emmy: Wow
Dan: Yeah, I think its cool.
Caroline: Anything else honey?. Does Harry Potter have a girlfriend? Is there any romance coming for Harry Potter? Im talking purely fictional now. Anything?
Dan: I think Ron and Hermione are going to get together. Thats what I think.
Caroline: Ron and Hermione? No, no, no! Its you and Hermione. Dont tell me its gonna be Ron! No. And what about Daniel, the boy? Do you have any romance.Emmy, Im trying to help you out here sister, okay Were working as a team. All right?Do you have a girlfriend?
Dan: No.
Caroline: Oh, how interesting, all right Thats your lead Emmy! Well, you know, you never know, if you need like people to take you to the movies or whatever in America.
Dan: Cool!
Caroline: Cool! All right. Another successful match. Everyone in our studio audience will be getting a special wide screen edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone on DVD. Pretty fantastic! Thank you so much, Daniel. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is currently in theatres everywhere and I mean everywhere! You are delightful.
Dan: Thank you very much.
Caroline: So nice to meet you. Nice to see you, Emmy. You can yell at me later. All right, well be right back.
