Most people leave in these houses. So in the rural areas as in the villages. They plants bananas, tomatoes, mangoes, around their houses.

This trip strengthened our vocation. It was very important for us to see the reality close up before we move in to Mozambique.

The children are every where. They are quick-witted. They sing and dance very well. Each family has about 10 children. The 40% of them die before the aged of 5 due to malnutrition, malaria, AIDS, parasites, pneumonia, diarrhea, etc.

For the medical care we always need a translator because, in each zone, the people talk 2 or 3 languages besides Portuguese (official). We use and give medicaments donated by the Christian Church of South Africa.

The traditional doctor (chaman) heals by following the instructions given by the "forefathers' spirits." Most people go to see this kind of doctor to recover and to ask for a sorcery. For that reason the sick go to the doctor too late because they are afraid of receiving a curse from these occultism agents. Pray for us. ". . . our struggle is not against flesh and blood . . ."

Working along with the Palacios has been a great inspiration for us. God used them to start walking in Africa. They are precious missionaries. Let's pray for their new ministry in Angola.

We participated in the evangelistic work at a new church in the small village of Mandimba, in the province of Niassa.
