For those of you raising baby gerbils for the first time, I've set up a little chart of growth for the pups. Enjoy! = ) (you'll probably need to widen your window a bit, or else scroll, I have 3 days to a row).

Day 1 | Day 3 | Day 5
| The pups are born hairless, deaf, and blind, usually during the early morning or mid to late afternoon. | The pups' ears open around this time, and they begin to show signs of fur beneath their skin. (sorry, the pic is very bad.) | The undercoats begin to grow in, somewhat fuzzy.

Day 6 | Day 9 | Day 11
| The pups grow ever fuzzier. | By now, (depending on the color though) you can usually tell what color they're going to be, as the undercoats have developed and the true fur color is beginning to grow in. | They're pretty much fully-furred now, may wander out of the nest now and then.

Day 13 | Day 15 | Day 18
| They are now looking more and more like adults. They just need to open their eyes! | They are very hyperactive now, running about driving their parents nuts. | Now their eyes are open! They look like miniature copies of their parents.

Day 25
| They're almost 4 weeks old. In another week or so they'll be ready to be weaned. More and more they are nibbling on food and trying out the waterbottle.
