Whew! 1997 was a very rough and exciting year for the Danis! So many wonders, so many tragedies, all wrapped up in 365 days!
May/June: Ross Dani disappears mysteriously when he and his brothers escaped from their cage one afternoon.
August 14th Rachel Dani escapes from her tank and is caught by the cat = (
August 18th Phoebe Dani and Ciaran Lautrera meet face-to-face after 3 days in a split cage.
August 19th The one year anniversary of Missy's death. Alpha dies mysteriously that morning, leaving Splotch alone.
September (?) Pookie celebrates his 2nd birthday.
October 2nd Skittish is bought from Pet Village, and brought home and placed in a split cage with Pookie.
October 3rd My first idea of Dana and Fox--two siamese.
October 9th Phoebe and Ciaran's first mating.
October 10th Splotch suffers a stroke.
October 17th Splotch dies = (
October 29th Ben, Monny and Joey kiss their old three story cage goodbye in favor of a 15 gallon tank.
November 4th Phoebe and Ciaran's first litter (Adia, Surfacing, Grace, Angel, and Mystery) is born.
November 11th Dani Clan's counter rolls up to 4983497 thanks to an error at Geocities.
December 15th Phoebe and Ciaran's second litter, of one pup, named Enola, is born.
December 16th Enola dies = ( The real Fox (a PEW or DTW) arrives along with Dana #1 from Wisconsin.
December 23rd Dana Fox #1 dies after an unfortunate attempt to treat a wound inflicted a week earlier by an adult gerbil = (
December 25th My 3rd Christmas owning gerbils! Pookie's 3rd Christmas also.
December 28th Angel and Surfacing arrive in Oklahoma at their new home, and meet their wives for the first time.
December 31st The gerbils stay up all night celebrating the last day of 1997. Hello 1998 hope you hold more joys and less sadness! = )
