September 11, 2001
The state of the world forever changed as of September 11th, 2001. Though perhaps we must note that the world we now see has been long in the coming, and it is only that we see what before we chose to ignore. We must honor those brave, innocent souls that passed on that fateful day by seeing that such tragedy can never happen again. We can no longer afford to ignore the world around us. It is a truth of maturity that always comes with pain. Ignorance. this is not the lack of knowledge, but the choice, the action to ignore.
We can never again fail to understand that there are those out there who believe that they have no reason to hope. There are those who believe us to be wrong, so wrong that they would commit such unspeakable acts of terrorism. We must all find the time to reach out to each other and create equality; physically, intellectually and metaphysically. We are strong. We are born of power, and we must never surrender to ignorance. Just because you or I have what we desire is never an excuse to look away when the next soul suffers.
Steps are presently being taken far from where I sit here typing away to stop those who set in motion the events of that fateful September day, but it is to the future that we must now look. The future must be made safe to avoid the growth of such abberations, and to ensure that we must build new ways, and new structures. We cannot seek only for ourselves, but instead, we must seek each other.
War is often inevitable. It propogates from laws of nature that are seldom understood save by the few who would ignore them nonetheless. In all civilizations previous, and that which now stands, the rule is the same.
The rate of adaption is always exceeded by the rate of advancement. This means that any structure of government or civilization, no matter how flexible, adaptible or powerful will eventually be unbalanced by its own growth. (Rate of growth)(Rate of change)(speeed of light)Time, divided by the variables and values of the structural integrity. In laymans terms this could be called erosion of a sort. Even a solid rock will eventually be washed away by a constant flow of water. One possible visual representation would be that of an inverted pyramid, with the smallest point being the initial idea or philosophy upon which the government or civilization is based. Such a structure is inherently flawed because it requires tremendous balance simply to exist. If anything it is a testament to the human spirit that such structures can stand at all. What I believe is required is a structure dependant not upon ideas or concepts, but upon the people. The obvious and painfully difficult part is that the individual must surrender a part of their individuality to the whole to make it strong. It would be a structure built to embrace change not resist it. Change would become it's power instead of its weakness. In a visual sense, it would of course, be a sphere.
The idea is neither new, nor even my own. Though Christ was not the first to say it, I do believe he said it best. "Love God and love one another, for that is the whole of the law."
At this point massive change is inevitable, but as we are the instruments of that change, the outcome is not.
