Porsche Boxster Recieves Noticable Upgrades
Finally after eight long years the Boxster, (the baby brother of the popular 911) gets upgrades that bring it back into our modern days of high power. With noticeable powertrain changes the Boxster S steals 22 horsepower increasing the top speed to 166 mph. A six-speed man- ual transmission will be featured in the models to come. The base model, is 240 horsepower driven by a 2.7-liter six-cylinder engine raising its top speed to 159 mph. The Boxster (base model) has gained 15 horses from last year's 225 horsepower engine. The sticker price will start around $44,000 and Porsche says they will not get out of hand on pricing, even though it received many upgrades. Other than the new power changes, Porsche has done much handling wise, in- cluding improvements on the body stiffness and chassis, along with vari- able rate power steering. The 2005 Boxster model will be sold in dealerships beginning in January 05. --Dan VS-- |
