I am on the March 2 ballot as a delegate for Howard Dean.  I have been a Dean supporter for over a year and have been an active member of the Harford County MeetUp since August.

I began my 20 year involvement in electoral politics as a student organizer for Gary Hart in 1984.  That led to the formation of a campus chapter of Young Democrats.  After college, I worked for the 1988 Presidential campaign of Paul Simon.  I was a paid organizer in Ames, IA for a month and then went to NH for a week.  In 1992, I chose Paul Tsongas and was a volunteer phone caller downtown in Baltimore.

In the past 10 years I have become involved in local politics here in Bel Air and Harford County.  I was an unsuccessful candidate for Bel Air Town Commissioner in 1995.  That campaign introduced me to local activists.  I have supported campaigns for Town Commissioner, County Council and State Delegate.  Unfortunately, Democrats have not had much success over the past decade.  I helped collect signatures for the successful ballot initiative to switch to in-district elections, which resulted in the election of at least one Democrat on the County Council.

I have been involved in local government for the past decade.  In 1995, I was appointed to the Town of Bel Air Economic and Community Development Commission.  In 2003, I was appointed to the Town of Bel Air Board of Appeals.
