How to build a Stairway Handrail

I never liked our existing handrail very much.  It helps when the rail going up falls off the wall...It gives you a reason to start.

Start with a plan and things you like.

Then, go buy a bunch of wood and those tools you always wanted.  Hey, aren't they for the project?

Tear down the old stuff and cut a big hole at the bottom of the stairs.  When you get tired, go down the basement and pretend you are doing something.  Every now and then bang on the ceiling...using a broom handle works real good to make your wife think you are working away very hard.
