that the respondents have been working with the target subject for a prolonged period of time and have nothing to gain or lose from providing inaccurate information.
By using both quantitative and qualitative methods this report will make accurate forecasts between feedback given to admissions personnel during conversations which take place prior to enrolling and while starting school at an online university. Additionally, the qualitative factor will help to solidify the veracity of the data received through the survey questions (Bush, Ortinau, & Hair, 2004).
Based on a target confidence level of 95%, the sample size being 43 subjects, the number of admissions advisors employed by the school being 1,500, the school population approximately 22,000 and the average responses being 95% the same or greater, there will be a +/- 6% variation between the findings of this survey and the results if all 22,000 students were to be respondents (Sample Size Calculator, n.d.). Findings with this degree of validity can be generalized with great confidence.
The results of the surveys and the interviews will be compared to research that has been peer reviewed and is generally acknowledge as accurate to determine if the outcomes have been tainted through bias or other variables. The survey information will be complied in an excel spreadsheet to accurately compute averages and present the data gathered in a format that can be easily evaluated.
Design
As stated earlier, because of various threats to validity, which are prevalent in experimental research, this project is focusing on non-experimental data gathering with a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of research via compiling survey
