The prince and heir to the throne. Seen in the public eye as good-looking, considerate, brave etc. However, in person, he can also be mildly sexist, self-centred and self-important.
Prince Rhin Dharmunde:
Brother of Prince Caffron Dharmunde. Sometimes a bit of a joker and less likely to underestimate the opposite sex. Witty, handsome and friendly. (Note: For much of the book however, he is inhabited by a demon!)
Anna McKillop:
From the future of another world, ie twentieth century Earth. Strong and stubborn but also friendly and caring.
Karyn (Somans / Dharsomans):
Rescued by Anna from Dark forces in the Dark realm. Freed from slavery, she is now searching for her lost family. She becomes Annas' friend. (Later in the series, she will discover her last name is Somans, who were in possession of the throne until all known relatives died or were killed and the Munde's took over. Hence the Dharsomans.)
Knight Bariun Flennsa:
Part of the King's personal guard, Best warrior but lonely in his job as a shadow to the King. Swift and deadly, calm, rational, perhaps cold at times. He is less important in the first book.
Dragon Hoodwink Fly-by-Night:
Dragon whom Caffron and Anna make contact with and become friends with to help in the war against evil. Becomes their link to the Dragon world when they discover there are other dragons. Previously lonely due to declining dragon numbers (killed off by man). Truthful, trustful, honest, keeps his word, dangerous to his enemies, calm and deep-thinking. Also doesn't become an important character until his appearance in the second book.
Tarika:
The seer of a tribe of the desert people. Perhaps a bit innocent to the evils of the world because she doesn't understand how one can want to harm another. Also honest and keeps her word, incredibly athletic with good fighting skills, serious thinking. She decides her quest is to help in the fight against evil.
King Kerojinan Dharmunde:
Caffron's father, dies in the war against evil. He is poisoned. As a King he was kind, and a magnificant leader. Minor character.
Queen Cortella Dharmunde / Dhartormen:
Caffron's mother, at first appears irrational and self-important but she is actually quite considerate and caring. Minor character.
Moonshine:
Anna?' link with the pegasus community, her "horse".
Evil Carlord:
A minor leader of the Dark forces. Anna plays up to him when she is in the Dark realm. Not the highest ranking leader however, and Anna eventually kills him.
Terroraks:
Creatures used by the Dark forces. Incredibly strong and muscly bodies by essentially extremely stupid and slow thinking. Evil takes the brains of the physically inferior (humans) and places them in the mentally inferior (terroraks) for a lethal combination.
Royal Naming System:
Any family members directly linked to the throne (immediate family) has their last name starting with Dhar however they may keep any other last name they have. For example the Queen generally keeps her maiden name hence Queen Dhartormen.
