The three most widely used systems of dating in the known world are respectively, the Traditional method, the Followers of Kane method and the New World Followers method.

Only one thing remains fixed amongst all these dating systems: that each has four months, and for each system these months have the same name.

Each month corresponds with a season and their names may be interchangeably used with the name of the season.

Karma is the name for the summer month.
Losda is the name for the winter month.
Gemma is the name for the autumn month.
Narda is the name for the spring month.

The Traditional Method:

The traditional method of dating has been used for the longest. Unlike the other methods, events triggering the year 0000 are unknown.
The traditional method follows its years by the phases of the first moon and is used in all scientific research as it is the most logical method.
The traditional method also has concrete month dates, where each month is 96 days in length except for Losda, which is 97.
Traditional dating is usually written as such:

                     Losda 45 2479 17:19
This date shows the 45th day of the winter month in the year 2479 at 5 hours and 19 minutes in the early evening.
Occasionally date may be written in short hand as such:

                               45L/79
If talking of a date in a previous century, the rest of the year would need to be put in:

                               45L/1064

Followers of Kane Method:

For the followers of Kane, the year 0000 began at the death of the god Kane. Since that date, followers of Kane believe time is counting down to chaos. Thus, dates since are negative numbers, not positive. Their belief is that the final year before chaos will be the year -9999.
Followers of Kane follow their year by the phases of the second moon, thus their year is slightly shorter than the traditional method, and more subject to fluctuation.
Because the followers of Kane follow the second moon phases, the length of their month varies year to year.
Generally followers of Kane write their dates as such.

New World Followers Method:

This is the final method, and is not as widely used as the others.
Followers of the new world believe that at the time the current boundaries of countries were established, a new path was opened up towards enlightenment, and while it is a long haul in the beginning stages only, eventually the world will get there.
Thus, the year 0000 begins when these current boundaries were established, not long ago at all.
The new world followers do not believe in concrete months, but months that vary with an inner instinct and influenced by the weather. If winter 'comes early', then the winter month has begun. Unfortunately this dating system is very subject to perception, and generally is not used, even by new world followers, in more than casual speech.
