AUSTRIA

Altstadt (old Town) in Austria

I went to Austria in Summer of 2000. Here is a link to my pictures. Read below for what my trip was about!

5/14/00 I'm going abroad to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria for a month starting in May. This excursion is taking place as a short term music class entitled Music in Austria: The Imperial Legacy. While on this trip I will be learning a ton about Mozart. I'll even get to visit his home, pretty neat I think.
While in Austria, I will have a music class held in a local school or college 5 to 6 days a week. During class the students will hold presentations and we will be visiting museums, churches, concert halls, and other historical sites.
I'm getting pretty excited for my trip. I just got my passport in the mail today (April 1) so that was a sure sign that I'm on my way to Austria. I am a bit nervous about the plane ride itself, it's a total of 8 hours one way and over the ocean. I have yet to fly for so long and over such a vast surface area.
While on the trip I am going to be a gopher for my professor, copying documents, getting materials to students, being an over all aid to my professor. Why is this cool you might ask? Cause I'm getting paid for it! I have also received a scholarship for a third of my trip! I love to save $$$.

Here is some background information about about the traveling I'll be doing

Here are some good links for information on Austria and the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Salzburg - This site is pretty good except for it's link to honor the Sound of Music with Julie Andrews.
