Non-Vemonous Snakes 2
Eastern Worm Snake

7 1/2 to 11 inches

This seldom seen snake is fairly common. Found under rocks and leaves in forests and yards. It is often mistaken for the worms it feeds on.
Northern Ringneck Snake

Very Common. Feeds mainly on small woodland salamanders.
Smooth Green Snake

Another very common snake that is not often seen due to it's beautiful colour.
It feeds on spiders, grasshoppers, crickets, and other insects.

When picked up or frightened some will give a very effective threat display -as in the above right photo-BUT-they very rarely bite.

This snake is a gardener's best friend.
