Examples of Herp Non-Native Species Found
This may seem Unimportant until you come across one.
If you can't identify it-go to the links page or send me a digital photo or scanned  and I will try to help you.
My E-mail Address: [email protected]
I will scan newspaper articles and/or provide links (PA ONLY) and lists from phone calls, etc.and add my own photos of these types of animals.
Please keep in mind not all of these animals lived through their experiences-many died.
<This is one of the lucky ones.  The snake found a nice home with a caring owner.

A small list of Exotics that are most often found in PA:
American Alligator
Spectacled Caimen
Boa Constrictors
Burmese Pythons
Reticulated Pythons
Nile Monitors
Green Iguanas
Asian Box Turtles
Nile Monitor
I got a call on one of these near Catasaqua, PA in 2004-in  someone's backyard! It was captured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Humane Society-at least that's what I was told..
Although this is not that particular one-this is one, that was given up for adoption.
Nile Monitors can become very large and dangerous.  If you happen across one-call Animal Control, a Herp Society, Herp Rescue, etc-don't try to catch it yourself unless you have experience with large lizards.
Much more coming-unfortunately.
