Hello 

Greetings from the island of Tierra Bomba. 
I will be moving again within Colombia. The pioneering work here is done. My leaders here in Jucum have decided that now they can handle the leadership of the construction on their own. My slogan is; I am a missionary in a strange country, to do what the locals wont or can’t do. Ofcourse I could stay but the lady who started this work got married in the meanwhile and her husband can handle the work. There is a lot to do in construction to complete all the houses here on the island for the streetkids. And I really like this work, but if I don’t leave now, I would never leave if I look at the amount of work. I believe that God has something new for me. I like to be led by the Holy Spirit. And God provides for others, because it is already 2 years ago that I am invited to work with Jucum in another city called Medellin. So I feel that the time is right to go there now to help in maintenance of the different buildings they have. They are already looking forward to my arrival, so I will go to Medellin as soon as I have all handed over before I leave in October.  

 

In the city of Medellin there is more presence of the Guerrilla, but my Spanish language is a little better in the mean while so it takes longer for people to find out that I am not a Colombian.  

The latest news in Colombia is that there are peace talks with the biggest Guerrilla group. And the president has been seen in talks with the leader on TV. But little departments of the same group and other groups still act as if there is no difference, so once again war is declared by the government. Many trucks and busses and oil pipes are being burnt and electricity lines destroyed. So the government called upon all the reserves to fulfill their duty in the army. So it is still not boring here in Colombia.
