Szeged is a beautiful, city located in southern Hungary. It is situated on the banks of the magestic Tisza River, close to the Great Alfold (or plain). Full of culture and tradition, the city boasts many wonderful buildings as part of Hungarian heritage. Szeged was all but destroyed on March 12, 1879, by a huge flood. After that, the citizens of the city came together to build a huge cathedral in the city-centre, vowing that such devastation will never come again...
