Torn Whispers

She was torn between two worlds
Cause and Effect,
Lovers like reflections in the mud of the Mississippi
Her emptiness gapped/vastly, ever in need
To fill this void, her eyes wandered,

Masked beyond the veil of mortal sight
He stood brilliant watching, her lost steed waiting,
To take her home,
To lay her to rest,

She hungered/longed and desired
To be held up in a dark/silent protector?s arms
Spun into the night, ravaged, mentally and mortally,
Him thinking always of her.

In a madman's grip there too she felt warmth,
Love?
A companionship of connected souls
He completed her, with instinct

Still a heavenly Lover, yearned
Patiently for the earthly bind to break,
To settle regrets and match the mistake
Of leaving her side.
Thorn Child

the king knows visions told him so,
a prophecy silenced not forgotten
she fell to her knees to find her faith
on the river bank
mud to water
water to fire

"bare this and you shall remain"
a human, manster, freak
blood from rain,
to the village she was, taint

whispers of this unholly virgin
come to houses of Pegans and Romans

who made the correct way?
how shall the money spend?

yet the holly men came
for the child with the
"innocent secret"

The child of Thorns

yet the King is watching,
waiting again.
