Coro is the capital of Falcon, which is a Venezuelan state, located in the Northwestern part of the country. It is one of the states situated on our coast line.
Coro is an interesting city, because it has a lot of variety regarding fauna and flora......and it also has beautiful natural zones.
One of them, and the most famous in Coro, is called "Los Medanos de Coro". These are huge sand mountains, where you can see the best sunrises....it is really beautiful. The tourist love those mountains, and they usually stretch out of the top, and then, they roll all the way to the bottom of the mountain. You must try it, it is really exciting because the sand is very soft and it is very funny to see people doing it.
The most special thing about these mountains is that they consist only of sand, dry sand. Actually, the vegetation around that zone and the weather, is very dry. In fact, you can find some cactus near there.
In addition, there are several beaches where you can spend a great time like "Varadero Beach" and "Adicora". Adicora, has a particular feature, and it is that the water is very shallow, and if you walk into the see, you can walk 1/2 mile and the water will still be at the level of your ankles. It is amazing!
Another turist site is the Coro's Downown. There, you will see colonial houses with big windows of different strong colors. There is also a big square where you can sit in peace, breathe fresh air and enjoy the view. |
