When getting off the Dan Ryan it is on the right hand side of the street, I believe at Princeton
Good Italian food at a decent price.
great place to go before a white sox game. It is slightly more upscale the usual ball game attire, but not by much

Get the poorboy steak sandwich plate (sandwich, potato, salad),  exceptional house dressing.
Very garlicy, you won't be able to talk to anyone for a day or two.
Cheap mixed drinks.  Sandwich is a little pricey, but worth it.
Good stop after harrah's or the empress casinos

breaded steak sandwich is very filling and good (great after a white sox game but not in the safest area)

For deep dish: Connies Pizza, Giordano's, Gino's East, and Pizzeria Uno (only the one downtown on Huron, the rest are the chain restaurant) are all consistently good.

Also check out Lindy's Chili for... chili. Bishop's Chili is supposed to be great, but Lindy's is my family's choice due to proximity.

Polish sausage and Italian Beef Sandwiches, any place with a Vienna sign.
A good butcher shop for polish and italian sausage (and probably other things) is Smolich's:
Smolich Brothers Sausage
