This is Cocoa, a Humanoid Robot that I designed, constructed, and programmed during a summer internship at NASA.
Cocoa has two CCD cameras
for "eyeballs".  Both cameras
have two independent rotational
degrees of freedom so that they can "roll around" in their sockets
like human eyeballs.
In a lab demo, Cocoa would turn her neck to keep me in sight as I walked around the laboratory.  The two monitors, which can be seen in the image to the left, continuously display what cocoa is looking at.
Cocoa is extremely talkative and is very  polite!  She communicates with humans by way of a voice synthesizer that converts text on the computer to a humanlike audible voice. Cocoa has even been known to tell a few jokes!
I do have an MPEG video of Cocoa in action during a lab demonstration.  Unfortunately, I cannot put a link to it here because this is  a "free site"  with size constraints that cannot accomodate the video.
I am currently taking, or plan to take, classes on Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, Machine Learning, Image Processing, and Knowledge engineering so that hopefully one day I will be able to start a Humanoid Robotics Company that will rival Honda's ASIMO project.
