| I was born in a Hindu Punjabi family. I was a strong believer of Hindu philosophy and went to temple regularly. Keeping fasts and reciting mantras was my daily norm. I have a keen desire to learn music. One day I accompanied one of my friends to his friend's place. I came to know that he is a good musician. However, after that day, I was not able to meet him. It so happened after a year or so, that I was feeling quite lonely. In addition, I needed some respite for my friend circle comprises of people who were rich and so I was unable to fully cope into their culture. Then I remembered a guy whom I had met a year back and went to learn guitar from him. I went to his house. He was quite glad to see me. While we were talking, we both become aware that we studied in the same school. No sooner, I realized that he is the son of my Standard 9th class teacher. After that, we fixed up the time and he started teaching me guitar. A week went by and then he asked me whether I am interested in doing some conversational reading. I asked him more about that. In addition, he reciprocated that it shall be from the book of John. Then he gave me "The New Life" booklet. I read from it a chapter. Moreover, as expected it bounced over my head. Then we studied that together. "In the beginning was the word. And the word was God. And the word was with God...". Slowly covering each stanzas but I still did not understood much of that. Then came Saturday, and since his college was closed on that day, this new friend of mine invited me to his place in the afternoon. We studied together. I was more foolish at that time to understand much. At about 4'o clock one of his friend's Ranjeet, who now works in Panther Software, came to meet him. We started discussing about Hindu mythologies and about gods and goddesses in Hinduism. At around 8 in the evening, I was more than convinced that Hinduism is not the way to attain salvation and Peace. In addition, the gap that exists because of our sins can only be closed by putting our faith in Jesus Christ ALONE. And I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior on Saturday, 28th of January 1995. A week after that, I went along with my friend Anurag Smith, to the Church for the first time. And after that, I have been going constantly to Delhi Bible Fellowship, which is my present church. I have failed Him time and again. But despite all my unfaithfulness, He remained faithful to me. Initially, I faced some battery at home. But He showed His love to me, and my parents somehow got adjusted. From time and again, I have felt His faithfulness whether at the time of construction of our house or facing with financial difficulties. His faithfulness is going to last throughout all my generations. Nowadays I encourage others as a Witness of His Immaculate Grace, both through mail forums and in person with those I meet. I have a desire to share the gospel of Hope and Peace. But I still have a long way to go. May God shall be glorified thoughts my actions. |
| I have been talking to Deepak for a couple weeks now and he is a really great guy. He loves the Lord so much and the fact that he gave his testimony is a sign of true appreciation, love and public example to Christ our Lord and Saviour. If you would, please pray for him and that he gets out of financial trouble, He lives in the Middle East (I don't remember exactly and I will change the middle east thing, when I find out what country in which he resides) and he is a net evangelist and he has a hard time paying for phone bills and for his evangelistic work. So please pray for him and his family. He is 23 now and really needs help. Thank you and God bless you |
