| Part 1 Pardon me, but your epidermis is showing the Son And I couldnt help but note your shade of melony I tip my hat to the colorful arrangement, because I See the beauty in the tones of our skins We have got to come together...Yes, Come together And thank the Maker of us all We are colored people and we live in a tainted place We are colored people and they call us the human race We have got a history so full of mistakes and we are Colored people and we depend on Your Holy Grace Part 2 A piece of canvas is only the beginning form It takes some character with every loving stroke This thing of beauty is the passion of an Artists touch By Gods design, We are a skin kaleidoscope We have got to come together...Yes, come together Arent we human after all? We are colored people and we live in a tainted place We are colored people and they call us the human race We have a history so full of mistakes and we are Colored people and we depend on your Holy Grace Part 3 If no answer is wrong or racist, then Just is the Lord If we aspire to share this space, repentance is the chore yes, Repentance is the chore Well just a day in the shoes of a color-blind man should make it easy for you to see That these diverse tones that want to cover our bones ares part of our anatomy We are colored people and we live in a tainted place We are colored people and they call us the human race We have got a history so full of mistakes and we are Colored people and we depend on Your Holy Grace Part 4 We are Colored People and they call us the human race Yes, we are Colored People....Colored People We are Colored People and we al got to share this space Yes, we are Colored People Yes, we got to come together somehow We are Colored People and we live in a tainted place Yes, we are Colored People We are Colored People every Man, Woman, boy and girl We are Colored People, yes we are!!!!! |
| I thought this to be a great piece of poetry/song lyrics because of the non-racist attitudes in it. So many of us, with the recent anti-arabian times that we abhor any people that we deem a culprit of a bad act. Yet, God loves us as His own and "has made of one blood all nations" (Acts 17:26). We are one blood, and only one race, The Human Race. Please, read this song turned poem to realize that skin color is God's artwork. This is for: Racists, Christians, and Christian Racists |
