Short bio: Melanie is the daughter of Reginald and Deborah Monroe, and the twin sister to Phoebe Monroe. When the girls were 14 years old their parents divorced and their father married Abigail, who was his personal assistant at the college. Neither parent has had children since the twins, and it doesn't look like either will be reproducing soon.
Growing up in an above average income family (Reinald is a professor a the local university while Deborah is a nurse), the girls generally got whatever they asked for. Phoebe grew up being Daddy's little Princess, while Melanie tried to follow in their mother's footsteps. Both girls attended public school, and once they got into high school Melanie started dying her hair red so people would be able to tell her apart from her twin.
Ever since they were little Melanie has gone to dance classes. It started off as a twice a week session, and now that she's an adult she takes modern dance classes five days a week. Others view her as overly sweet to those she needs to be polite to, while being an utter bitch outside the classroom.
