Wow! I can't believe I'm almost a year old! Mama is SOOOO far behind on my website she said she's just gonna start over. (She still has the OLD pages saved, so if you want to see them, e-mail her and she can send you a link.)
I have six teeth (four on top, two on bottom), and boy does that help with eating yummy food! No more of that yucky stuff out of a jar for me! I eat whatever mommy and daddy eat. My favorite things right now are Fruit Puffs and crackers. I don't like scrambled eggs. Yuck!
I've started walking. I like to squat down and pick up my toys then stand back up. Sometimes I don't make it all the way back up, though, and I fall down. I think it's funny to fall down in my baby bed, though 'cause it's bouncy. Sometimes I wake mommy and daddy up in the mornings doing that! I like to hold on to the rails of my baby bed and jump, too. Wheeeee! My bed is squeaky, so mommy always knows when I'm jumping. She says I'll get in trouble for that in a few years....
I had to have tubes put in my ears last week. It wasn't so bad. The doctor gave me some icky medicine that made me sleepy. (Mama said it made me "loopy," whatever that means.) When they took me back to the operating room, they put this funny mask over my nose and I went to sleep. When I woke up, I didn't know where I was or who had me and BOY was I MAD! They finally took me to Mama, Daddy, and Grandma Parker so they could feed me and rock me to sleep. After a good nap, they gave me a t-shirt that said, "I survived Surgical Safari at Woodland Medical Center." The rooms are all decorated up like the jungle there. Anyway, the t-shirt is WAAAYY too big, but mama said she'll let me wear it for a sleep shirt when I get a little bigger.

I went to see Dr. Joines for my 12-month checkup last week. I weighed 26 pounds and was 31 inches tall. I'm getting to be a BIG girl! I had a mean old ear infection again, even though I had tubes put in. Mama thinks the infection I had when they put the tubes in didn't totally go away and just came back. We put drops in my ears twice a day. They are funny! They tickle when Mama drops them in my ear. (Mama doesn't really like it when I stick my fingers in my ears and get the drops all over my fingers. I don't know why, though...)
I got a new baby doll at my birthday party. She giggles when I hug her. I think it's really funny and I make a funny happy face when I hear her. I scrunch my eyes and nose all up. That makes Mama and Dad-O laugh at me. They say I'm growing up too fast, but I don't think so. I like being a big girl. I'm really enjoying all my birthday presents. I got some really great gifts. Mama says she can't wait until I get to wear all my new clothes. I got several outfits that will be really pretty for Valentine's Day. |
